About This Place
Set in the little Northumberland town of Amble, at the mouth of the River Coquet, is Amble Little Shore. This pleasant little crescent of sand is all but separated from the river and North Sea by the South Jetty, which stretches for almost 400 metres. --> The beach is backed by low dunes and a area of flat grass where you will also find a couple of car parks. There are also a handful of colourful beach huts here which you can admire, but they are all taken! Despite being one of Northumberland’s lesser-known beaches, and not the typical “sand as far as the eye can see” type beach, Amble Little Shore is pretty popular among locals. It only takes a few minutes to walk into Amble town centre from Little Shore. Here you will find no shortage of cafes, ice cream parlours and fish and chip shops. You can also take a stroll along the riverside towards the harbour, which takes you past a couple of seafood eateries.
💡 Our Take
Amble Little Shore Beach, nestled in Northumberland, is a hidden gem ideal for all furry companions. With its gentle, powdery sand, it's perfect for paw-sitive play and digging adventures. Dogs are welcome year-round, offering endless joy no matter the season. Parking is conveniently close, though it fills up quickly in peak times—arrive early to snag a spot. The shallow, calm waters are generally safe for swimming, making it great for puppies and anxious dogs. While facilities aren't right on the beach, town amenities are just a short walk away. DogParkUK whole-heartedly recommends this spot for stress-free seaside fun!
