Aldwick Beach
๐ Bognor Regis, Sussex
About This Place
Aldwick Beach sits just to the west of the resort town of Bognor Regis. Itโs a long, mostly shingle beach that reveals patches of sand and rock pools at low tide. The beach is considerably quieter than central Bognor, with a backdrop of gardens and residential streets. --> The beach stretches west towards Pagham and east to Bognor Pier, giving it a wide, open feel even on busier days. Towards the eastern end of the beach is a promenade, lined with beach huts and benches, beyond which lies Marine Park Gardens. At low tide, the exposed sand offers plenty of space and a chance to look for shells or the occasional crab, especially around the rock groynes. Swimming is possible when the sea is calm, although there are no lifeguards and the water quality can be questionable. The beach has nearby parking, and public toilets are available close to Marine Drive West. Itโs also a level walk from Bognor town centre.ย Aldwick Beach has a laid back, rather genteel feel to it. Itโs a good place to relax, walk, take in the sea air and listen to the shingle as the tide rolls in.
๐ก Our Take
Tucked away in West Sussex, Aldwick Beach welcomes dogs all year-round, boasting a mix of soft and pebbly sands, perfect for dogs to explore. Its wide open spaces make it ideal for energetic breeds and puppies eager for adventure. Parking is conveniently close, though it can fill quickly during peak times, so arrive early to snag a spot. The surrounding area doesnโt offer immediate facilities or amenities, so prepare accordingly with water and waste bags. With calm waters, it's safe for dogs who love to paddle, particularly great for anxious or larger breeds seeking a serene coastal romp.
