About This Place

This secluded north-facing beach is only accessible from the coast path or a mile long hike from the nearest parking spot on the A487. Set in a deep inlet the beach is backed by a lovely wooded valley through which the Cwm Rhigian cascades. --> The beach itself is mostly pebbles but as the tide drops away sandy patches are revealed. The cliffs which extend some way along both sides of the beach provide plenty of shelter from both the wind and waves making this a great spot for swimming and other water sports. However, given its remoteness some caution is advised. Given its lack of easy access Aber Rhigian is always quiet with just the occasional passing walker or kayak from up the coast.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Looking for a dog-friendly escape in Wales? Aber Rhigian Beach is a real find! This beach allows dogs year-round, so every season is open for pawsome adventures. While the exact sand type isn't confirmed and details are light, the lack of restrictions is a green light for boundless furry fun. As facilities are unconfirmed, be sure to pack water and poo bags. And while wild swimming is tempting, always assess water safety before letting your dog dive in. Aber Rhigian's open accessibility makes it perfect for confident larger breeds who love a good run!
